It is easy to purchase tickets for any of the philharmonic concerts. Tickets for the 2015 - 2016 season concerts can be purchased on-line or over the phone. Friends of the Philharmonic can purchase tickets in advance. All seats are reserved.

Support the orchestra by becoming a "Friend of the Philharmonic". The generous donations of our “Friends" make it possible to fund student scholarships to orchestra members. Last year, over $45,000 in scholarships were given to deserving students. With your help, we will continue to bring outstanding classical music to the Fredericksburg community!

The UMW Philharmonic is a premiere college/community orchestra whose mission is to educate as well as to provide quality classical music to the community.  The group serves as the flagship classical ensemble for the university and the community. Entrance into the group is by audition only.



UMW PHILHARMONIC SCHOLARSHIPS (2015-16): The UMW Philharmonic, supported by the Friends of the Philharmonic, is fortunate to have one of the largest and most progressive scholarship programs in the nation. Called the Philharmonic Scholars, awards are based not only on participation within the orchestra, but also service to the community and to the university.


Tours and Events

Touring Program The UMW Philarmonic’s touring program was established in 2006 as a means to offer international and cultural opportunities for our student and community musicians. Tours are voluntary and take place during academic breaks.
